Man climbs to the top of pylon, closing southbound lanes near East Little York on Hardy Toll Road

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – The southbound lanes of Hardy Toll Road in Little York have reopened after a man appeared at the top of a tower overlooking the toll road.

At 7:13 a.m. Saturday, TranStar announced the road closure near East Little York.

The man first appeared shirtless and sitting on top of the tower.

Around 8:05, the man changed his sitting position.

About nine minutes later, the person was seen climbing down the lower tower.

At 8:30 a.m., he was seen at the lower end of the tower before jumping to the ground. First responders at the scene then helped the man by giving him water to drink.

It is unclear how the man climbed the tower or why he was at the top.

Officials say the man was on the tower for about 90 minutes before rescuers were able to bring him down.

According to officials, the man has a history of doing things like this before.
