A Davison man was sentenced to life in prison on Friday for poisoning his wife and causing her death.
Jason Harris, 47, was found guilty on November 17 by a jury of first-degree murder and use of a controlled substance causing death. According to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office, Harris allegedly put a lethal dose of heroin in his wife Christina’s cereal in 2014.
The case was originally ruled an accidental overdose but was turned into murder in August 2019 by the Genesee County Medical Examiner.
Other evidence against Harris included his alleged attempt to hire an assassin, their relationships other than their marriage, and the $120,000 life insurance payout Harris received after Christina’s death. , according to Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton.
Harris was sentenced to life in prison during his sentencing hearing on December 10, 2021.
