Matchpoint – Swings Tennis Championships Moving This Spring

Kalypso Media and Australian developer Torus Games announced Matchpoint – Tennis Championship, a brand new “immersive tennis experience” is coming to the Switch.

With a focus on “real-life scenarios and player reactions,” the game will launch on Switch and other platforms this spring. It is said that players will be able to use different tactics, player positioning and “authentic ball physics” to get the jump on their opponents in tournaments and competitions.

The title boasts an “extended” career mode and unique opponent system (more on that in the feature list below), and a number of real-world tennis stars will also be featured: Danill Medvedev, Garbine Muguruza, Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud and Hubert Hurkaczs, Nick Kyrgios, Benoît Paire, Heather Watson, Hugo Gaston, Madison Keys, Victoria Azarenka, Carlos Alcaraz and Pablo Carreño Busta.

An intensive career mode featuring a merit-based ranking system allows for accurate and competitive matchmaking.

Create your 3D tennis star. Choose your look, fashion, and playing style with a host of customization options, including vibrant techniques like backhand or backhand right, one handed or two handed.

Dominate the court like a tennis pro. Matchpoint – Tennis Championships features 16 real-life international tennis stars from professional tournaments, including Nick Kyrgios, Kei Nishikori and Amanda Anisimova.

Fully customize your athletes and wearables. The game features equipment from all brands of tennis, including UNIQLO, HEAD, and more – giving players the opportunity to use their equipment, from rackets to clothing. Unlock special gear by winning competitive matches.

Master all the shots and shots in great style. Determine the outcome of a rally by choosing the best technique for the moment: topspin, flat, lob or slice.

Take on opponents in local or online matches: Beat challenging AI opponents or challenge your friends and opponents to a virtual tennis match.
