If you find a two-door version of Ford Bronco too small, there is a four-door model that offers more space for people and equipment. If you find the four-door model too small, a North Carolina-based company called MegaRexx may have what you need. It has revealed a huge pickup-SUV combo aptly named MegaBronc, which has several Bronco’s identify styling marks and stick them on an F-250.
Whether you think MegaBronc is great or the answer to a question no one asked, there’s no denying that a huge amount of work has been put into the project. It wears a fiberglass like Bronco tights includes a more square user interface and more slabs next to the bed. The plates make truck about eight inches wider than F-250, pretty big to start with. Speaking of the cargo box, it’s not one anymore: It’s now part of the passenger compartment, and it has a removable colored rigid body mounted on a steel roll cage.
Inside, there’s plenty of room for seven passengers spread across three rows of seats. The individual second row seats are identical to the ones in which the front passenger sits, while the power-folding third row is derived from Journey. Like many modern trucks, the MegaBronc is equipped with a long list of features including a heated steering wheel and rear parking sensors (thank goodness!).
Power comes from a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 that makes 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque — this engine isn’t available in the Bronco. It turns all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the MegaBronc also has sled capacity like the F-250.
MegaRexx explains that it made a long list of powertrain and chassis modifications to maintain stability on the road while improving off-road ability. Notably, it gets 40-inch tires to move the differential, it adds 4.5-inch front coil springs and 5-inch rear multi-leaf springs, and it widens the track for holding Looks stable around bends. The front and rear differentials have also been retuned.
The truck pictured in our showroom is the first MegaRexx MegaBronc, and it’s on sale. Based on a 2021 F-250 Laries, it costs $224,950, which means it’s more expensive than a new Bronco and a new F-250 Super Duty combined. We’ll let the market decide if it’s a deal.
