Melissa Etheridge, Carole King Missing David Crosby – The Hollywood Reporter

Questlove, Carole King, Melissa Etheridge and many more stars took to social media on Thursday to pay their respects to David Crosby, a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, who passed away in California. age 81.

Musician who was a founding member of The Byrds and later in his career the Grammy Award-winning band Crosby, Stills & Nash, the band that eventually became Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

Crosby helped Etheridge and ex-partner Julie Cypher conceive their late son, Beckett, through sperm donation. The singer/songwriter shared her grief over the passing of a close friend. “He gave me the gift of family,” Etheridge wrote on Twitter. “His music and legacy will inspire generations to come.”

Carole King remembered her “old friend” when writing, “he left us with his beautiful words, music, and voice. My deepest condolences to Jan, Django and all who loved David Crosby.”

“David Crosby’s music is definitely a part of my life because I’m sure it’s for millions of people,” reckless wrote star Vincent D’Onofrio. “A lot of the music came from my three sisters’ room when I was a teenager and it was all my introduction to rock music and its many variations. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young were present.”

Although Tom Petty passed away in 2017, his Twitter account is still active and it tweeted, “Tom considers David Crosby a friend and a hero. He often visits his house in the valley. He’s funny, provocative, and talented. His contribution to music will never be forgotten.”
