Michaela Jaé Rodriguez in Ryan Murphy’s speech, a standing ovation – The Hollywood Reporter

Michaela Jaé Rodriguez has yet to hit the dance floor at the official Golden Globes after-party (hosted by HFPA in partnership with billboards) inside the Beverly Hilton before she was surrounded by wise men and revelers congratulating her on the big night.

Rodriguez was not nominated at the January 10 ceremony but received a standing ovation – thanks to Carol Burnett Award laureate Ryan Murphy, who shouted Posture star in his acceptance speech for her historic (and non-television) win in 2022 as the first transgender artist to receive a Golden Globe, for lead actress Best in TV series.

“That means more than the world to me,” says Rodriguez CHEAP of annotation. “Especially because Ryan was the one who really discovered me and pushed my career forward. I just love that he didn’t let that moment pass. I have been waiting for it. I’ve always said he was my Clive Davis to my Whitney Houston. He got me out of Newark just like Clive got Whitney out of Newark, and I will rock with Ryan for the rest of my life.
