Microsoft stated Wednesday that Nat Friedman, CEO of the corporate’s GitHub subsidiary that gives software program for storing supply code, is stepping down. Thomas Dohmke, GitHub’s product chief will change him.
The announcement comes weeks after one among GitHub’s most outstanding opponents, GitLab, went public on the Nasdaq. Following the debut, GitLab was value $16.5 billion, two times what Microsoft paid for GitHub in 2018.
“As Chief Product Officer, I am pleased with the work our groups have achieved to carry new capabilities to GitHub Codespaces, Points, Copilot, and lots of the 20,000 enhancements that we shipped last year. Collectively, we have constructed a roadmap that can remodel the developer expertise for open supply maintainers and enterprises utilizing GitHub for years to return,” Dohmke wrote in a blog post.
Dohmke takes over for Friedman on Nov. 15.
