Midfielder Adam Duvall bravely had wrist surgery at the end of the season

Atlanta Braves quarterback Adam Duvall will have wrist surgery, by manager Brian Snitkerand will be reported miss the rest of the 2022 season.

Duvall, 33, walked off the field in the third half of Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels because of wrist pain. On Sunday morning, the Braves booked Duvall in the list of 10 injured days with what the team calls a sprained wrist.

The injury left the Braves fragile off the field even after the team brought back Eddie Rosario from an eye injury earlier in July. Rosario is batting 0.132 this season and Atlanta has moved Guillermo Heredia and Michael Harris II into the starting lineup alongside Ronald Acuña Jr. on Sunday.

Duvall was traded to the Braves by the Cincinnati Reds in 2018 and spent a few seasons with the team before joining the Miami Marlins as a free agent in 2021. He was once again traded to the Braves. later that year and helped win the World Series championship by scoring a hit in five of six games against the Houston Astros.

Atlanta brought in Duvall on a one-year contract and received $9.275 million after arbitration. This season, he has beaten .213 with 12 home runs and 36 RBI runs.

The Braves fell to 58-39 when they lost to the Angels on Sunday and are one game ahead of the New York Mets in the NL East standings.
