The Boston Red Sox on Thursday released the midfielder Jackie Bradley Jr.
Bradley, 32, returns to the Red Sox after the team acquired the midfielder and two younger players in a December 2021 trade with Milwaukee Brewersgive up slugger Renfroe Hunter.
He hit the ,210 mark with three home runs and 29 RBIs in 92 games for the Red Sox while earning $9.5 million this season.
Bradley, who has averaged .228 batting during his career, was a mainstay for Boston during his first stint with the Red Sox from 2013 to 2020, winning an All-Star in 2016 and MVP title in the 2018 American League Championship Series. He had 62 assists off the field while making 769 appearances for the Red Sox.
