Migos Suddenly Cancel Governor Ball Performance After Breakup Rumors — Lil Wayne Added as Substitute
Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Migos has officially decided to split – and the latest news surrounding the trio certainly won’t put those rumors to rest. With just a few days to go before they were scheduled to perform at this year’s Governor’s Ball, Migos unexpectedly withdrew and Lil Wayne took their place.
To all the fans in New York City hoping to see Migos kill it and rip the stage at the 2022 Governors Ball, you will some bad news. @Hypebeast reports, despite being scheduled to take the stage at Governors Festival on June 10, Migos surprisingly canceled their performance. This news comes after growing rumors that the group has disbanded. On Twitter, Governor Ball’s official account responded to Migos’ withdrawal and announced who would replace them.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, Migos is no longer performing at the Gov Ball. Updated lineup coming soon”, this account wrote. That tweet was followed by someone who confirmed that Lil Wayne would be on stage instead. “@LilTunechi will be performing the GOVBALLNYC Stage on Friday, June 10 at 6:30pm!” message read.
If you’re following, you’ll recall that rumors of Migos breaking up originally started last month when Offset unfollowed both Quavo and Takeoff on Instagram. That incident happened around the time Quavo and Takeoff released their new joint single ‘Hotel Lobby’ as a new duo called Unc and Phew.
Currently, neither Offset, Quavo nor Takeoff have publicly responded to rumors that the group has ended.
