Mindy, now a tropical depression, dumps rain over Georgia

VALDOSTA, GA. – Rain was pouring down southeastern Georgia and coastal South Carolina as Mindy, now a tropical despair, swept throughout the state early Thursday morning.

The storm made landfall on the island of St. Vincent, Florida, on Wednesday night time. Mindy is predicted to carry as much as 6 inches (15 centimeters) of rain over the Florida Panhandle and components of southern Georgia and South Carolina via Thursday morning, the Nationwide Hurricane Heart mentioned.
