Minecraft update 1.18.10 Add frogs and 100+ fixes, here are the patch notes

Frog

Minecraft Bedrock Edition just received the second patch for the Caves & Cliffs Part II Update, which adds a bunch of bug fixes, experimental features, and the equivalent of the Java version, but most importantly: FROGS.

Be prepared, because these patch notes are Long. We will separate them into categories and provide brief explanations where necessary for easier reading!

Overall change

  • World settings can now be changed directly on Realms, just like local worlds
  • If you’re playing in Korea, we’ve added a game timer and game rule notice to help remind players to take a break from playing the game from time to time.

Experimental features

Minecraft allows players to opt in to “experimental” features, usually additions coming in the next update (currently The Wild update). If you want a preview of upcoming features, make sure to toggle experimental features in the game off – You can find the instructions right here.

Frogs and tadpoles

  • Frogs will lay eggs in the swamp biome
  • Frogs can crawl, jump, swim and walk on land
  • Frogs can eat small Slime, drop Slime Ball
  • Frogs can be tempted and raised using Seagrass, but this is only a placeholder food for now
  • Frogs lay eggs after mating
  • Frog eggs hatch Tadpoles
  • Tadpoles grow up to turn into Frogs
  • Tadpoles can swim in water
  • Tadpoles “jump around” like fish when on land, and eventually die
  • Tadpoles evolve into a different type of Frog based on the biomes they spawn in
  • Tadpoles can be caught in a barrel

Froglight

  • Three new Froglight blocks have been added (Pearlescent, Verdant and Ocher)
  • Froglight blocks emit light
  • These blocks are obtained by luring a Frog close to a small Magma block. Frog will eat the Magma Cube and a Froglight block will drop. Each Frog variant will drop a different Froglight block

Sculk

  • Sculk block features are now accessible by enabling this toggle

Vanilla parity

Golem

“Parity” was one of the big promises Mojang made last year, and that means the Java Edition (most commonly played on PC) and Bedrock Edition (the console version, including Switch) will be brought closer. together, ensuring that any conflicts between the two parties are resolved. Here’s a huge list of all the parity changes being made to Bedrock:

  • Added a globe banner template on Bedrock
  • Said Raid boss bar now shows “Raid – Victory” and Fireworks launched from the ground after a raid is defeated (MCPE-51267)
  • Villagers now make a “No” sound when trying to make a trade they’re out of stock
  • Players no longer gain particle effects when taking Bad Omen from Pilager Captains
  • Iron Golems now have varying degrees of fracturing depending on their health. Iron Ingots can be used on damaged Iron Golems to repair them (MCPE-74081)
  • Removed the emerald icon on the Villager’s head when trading
  • Iron Golem now only attacks players with very bad positions in a village after attacking a Villager
  • Glow Lichen now has the same brightness as Java Edition
  • Foxes now aim downward when they pounce (MCPE-143664)
  • Updated trading boards for Butchers, Cartographers, Librarians and Wandering Merchants
  • The biome decoration features in the cave biome now have the same frequency as the Java Version
  • Adjusted the “otheride” disc to emit redstone 14 signals to match Java Edition (MCPE-145751)
  • Adjusted the “Pigstep” music disc to emit redstone 13 signals to match Java Edition (MCPE-74030)
  • Updated textures for many blocks and items to eliminate bugs and achieve parity between Bedrock and Java Edition (MCPE-127539)

    • Moved the Beets and Melon Seed textures 1 pixel to match the Java Version (MCPE-148561)
    • Removed unused pixels in Cocoa Beans stage 0 and stage 1 textures to match Java Version
    • Updated Smooth Stone texture in Armor Stand (MCPE-148565)
    • Remove horizontal lines in Oak and Iron Top Door texture (MCPE-148566)
    • Removed hood in Witch, Evoker and Vindicator textures to match Java Edition
    • Changed the alpha values ​​of the Red and Blue Glass texture to match the Java Version (Vanilla Parity)
    • Fixed the color scheme of the Anvil desktop hammer icon (MCPE-148575)
    • Update Dark oak plank on Map board textures (MCPE-148562)
    • Updated spruce board on barrel bottom texture
    • Updated Lectern base texture plank (MCPE-148567)
    • Fixed marking inconsistencies in Gold and Diamond Armor textures (MCPE-148591)
    • Removed wandering pixel in Carrot stage 3 textures (MCPE-148563)
    • Center the Axolotls backside texture (MCPE-148571)
    • The Paddle is now the same color as the Boat (MCPE-150492)

Technical fixes and changes

This is a stupidity. Here are the highlights, but if you want the full list of technical changes, we’ve put it on a separate page!

  • Fixed various save errors
  • Fixed a bunch of crashes
  • Players can use emojis while standing on scaffolding
  • Added the “Iron Belly” achievement back to the game
  • The world is better
  • Bedrock layers in old world blocks will be replaced with Deepslate between y=0 and y=8
  • Mobs spawned in the new snow biome will now be their snow variant
  • Slimes will be aggressive with snow elves again
  • Untamed cats can be chained
  • Fixed a lot of block related glitches
  • Copper can be oxidized in the Netherlands
  • Light blocks can be waterlogged
  • Oven error fixed
  • UI issues fixed
  • Many API additions and documentation for those who want to create their own mods
  • New commands: /loot and /damage
