‘MLB MVP only plays for one team’ quiz
Few players have had a better MLB start than Cody Bellinger. He won the NL Rookie of the Year Award in 2017. The following year, he was named the MVP of the NLCS. In 2019 he won the regular season MVP NL and in 2020 he helped Dodgers Los Angeles won his first World Series championship since 1988. Now, he’s the following free agent not bid by LA last week. It’s a surprising move, but not without reason, given the 27-year-old’s product has dwindled since winning the MVP. Even with dropping out, he should have a large number of followers given his relatively young age, it was still a crushing defeat for a player who would be the cornerstone of the Dodgers for years to come. Instead, he is currently looking for a new home with a new team.
Which brings us to today’s test. In 1975, the MLB eliminated the reserve clause, making it easier for players, including the MVP, to change teams. So with that in mind, how many former MLB MVPs can you name since then who only knew one brand in their entire five-minute career?
Good luck!
