MLB The Show 22 Diamond Dynasty Tips and Tricks
Diamond Dynasty is a card-based mode in MLB The Show 22 where you collect cards and try to build the best baseball team you can. While this mode certainly favors players who are willing to spend a little money, there are ways to assemble a top team by just playing the game. Here are some tips to help you build your dream team in Diamond Dynasty.
How to find the best deals on the market
One of the most important parts of Diamond Dynasty is the market, where other players are selling their cards for cards. While buying bundles of cards is certainly cheaper, you know what you’re getting through the market. It’s important to know how to find a good deal, because unless you’re willing to break the bank, you’re probably not going to spend a few hundred thousand stubs to get the top tier Mike Trout card. Instead, you’ll want to use filters to narrow down the options.
Here you can evaluate minimum and maximum player ratings and costs, along with other slots and filters. Knowing how much you’re willing to spend, where you need it, and what a good boost in ratings is, you can set the filter appropriately. The best way to maximize your stub is to make sure you’re getting a substantial enough rank boost. If your third basemen is 80, it’s probably not worth picking another third basemen under 85. After you’ve set up your filter, look for players with lower costs. You won’t have a team full of famous superstars, but you will have a solid team to keep playing Diamond Dynasty and earn more money.
Always choose Sell Now over Quick Sell
Diamond Dynasty is all about opening card packs and adding the best players you can get your hands on to your roster. This also means getting a bunch of cards for players you don’t need or have better players in the position. As MLB The Show 22 is close to launch, many cards will have two card sale options, Sell Now or Quick Sell. Sell Now option means that someone in the market is trying to get the card and the number of Deposits you will get is higher than Quick Sell option. The advantage of Quick Sale is that the option is always available, but choose a better price whenever possible.
Know what your player’s overall rating is
Making the best Diamond Dynasty team possible means opening a lot of player packs and looking at a lot of cards. To save time and headaches, it’s a good idea to have a general idea of the player ratings your team has. If you know well that every pitcher on your spin has a rating of over 70, you don’t need to bother checking the stats of the original pitcher card you just received that has a rating of 65. While exact stats will matter as you get to higher ratings, when you’re just starting out, you’re almost always better off taking out better ranked players.
Watch Mini Seasons, but don’t expect it to be easy
One of the best ways to earn Stubs quickly is to win a number of Mini-Seasons where your Diamond Dynasty team is played against a group of teams in a mini-fall. You play short, three-turn games in a shortened season, which allows you to progress through programs and quickly earn Stubs. It’s also one of Diamond Dynasty’s least complicated single-player modes, like its regular baseball mode, only shorter. The only downside to jumping into this mode with your fresh roster is that other teams will have better players. Unless you feel like pulling your wallet out, you’ll need to trim some Stubs.
Check the display mode to increase the number of Stubs
Showdown mode is another way to improve some stubs and make better use of some of the player cards in the game without actually having them. Each Match has a series of challenges that you must complete, before battling it out in a Final Battle. Players team up to get started and earn bonus cards and perks whenever they successfully complete a challenge. The only downside to Showdown is that there’s a joining fee to start one, and if you do poorly enough, you could get stuck on the other side.
