‘Rocket League Sideswipe’ is out now for iOS and Android

After months of waiting, the “Rocket League” mobile offer has finally arrived, guess what? It’s pretty good! “Rocket League Sideswipe” isn’t quite a direct translation of “Rocket League” for mobile, but that’s probably a good thing. Instead, it takes the soul of what makes the game so fun and turns it into a 2D touchscreen version of the e-sports that works surprisingly well. The game is extremely polished for a free mobile game, doesn’t overwhelm you with microtransactions, and feels pretty unique in the mobile gaming world right now.

Even though it’s playable on phones, the game feels like “Rocket League” because it features a essentially identical graphic style, killer EDM Monstercat soundtrack, the ability to customize your car and even the ability to link to an Epic Games Account to share (some) rewards between the spin-off and its name. Currently, the game only offers three modes: Duel, Double and Hoops. Just like in OG “Rocket League”, you can level up by winning games against other players. The games are just 2 5 minutes longer for console and PC syndicated matches, which is perfect for a mobile experience, so if you’re naturally skilled or really lucky you should start Rank up pretty quickly.

As a quick, mobile way to get the “Rocket League” fix, the game succeeds on almost every level. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this spin-off as time goes on. As mentioned above, it’s completely free, so check it out for yourself!
