Morbius post-credits scenes reveal a larger Spider-Man universe

Morbius has finally arrived, and Marvel’s (live!) vampire doctor has some demons of his own to deal with in his feature film debut. But just because the movie keeps things small, doesn’t mean it can’t relate to a larger world in one way or another.

While most Morbius Originating with the doctor battling his own bloodlust and Matt Smith’s villain, the post’s credits widen the scope a bit and set up a big future and a few faces. familiar.

Morbius there are two scenes between the credits, one that takes place right after the credits start and the other that takes place a few minutes later. There’s not a single scene at the end of the final credits.

Morbius‘the post-credits scenes connect the film to the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe, like teasing scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. This, however, is a bit more confusing.

The first of the film’s two nibs cuts footage of New York City, just as a giant purple crack appears in the sky – presumably the effect of Doctor Strange’s magic from Spider-Man: There’s no way home. We then go inside an empty cell, seconds before Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton) emerges from the thin air, inside it. He looked at himself in the mirror, probably because he looked a little different than before, but seemed pleased with whatever he found. We then see a short news report that a man named Adrian Toomes has been found inside an empty cell and will soon be released. It’s not really clear when this happens in relation to the plot of the movie.

The film’s second post-credits scene shows Morbius, shortly after the events of the film, driving a sports car in the middle of an open road with fields on either side. He suddenly went out and felt the bat’s sonar tingling before Toomes’ Vulture appeared in a slightly altered version of his outfit from Spider-Man: Homecoming. The two have a brief conversation where Toomes admits he doesn’t know how he got here, but he thinks it has something to do with Spider-Man. More importantly, Toomes said that he thinks some people like him and Morbius should team up and “do some good deeds”.

It seems pretty obvious that these scenes are set up for a final Sinister Six movie. In fact, Morbius director Daniel Espinosa suggested a lot in one Interview with CinemaBlend. We also know, thanks for a few jokesthat Morbius takes place in the same universe as the events of both Movie about Venom. Thanks to the end of Spider-Man: There’s no way home, we also know that Eddie Brock is back in this same universe – that is, the Morbius universe, which is where Vulture also lives now. So Venom could be another possible member of the new team.

However, these scenes are extremely confusing, in large part because they seem to have nothing to do with the previous film. They raised some unanswered questions.

For one thing, we know that Eddie Brock is back as well, but it seems the news media are somehow only aware of Toomes’ strange appearance, so maybe not many people. involved in or noticed disappearances and reappearances. We also don’t know how this works, as it seems Toomes was the only one affected by Doctor Strange’s spell, who didn’t return to his own universe when it was undone.

In the end, it’s not really clear if there’s a Spider-Man in this universe! Some first Morbius Spider-Man poster trailerbut they weren’t actually present in the final movie, so who knows exactly who this universe’s Sinister Six will actually fight.

Unfortunately, for now we will just have to wait for more news about the Sinister Six, but as of 2018, the writer Drew Goddard still expressed interest in the project.
