Mounties find long-retired Burnaby firefighter’s service medal during search – BC
Richmond RCMP says officers engaged on a break-and-enter investigation recovered a long-retired Burnaby firefighter’s service medal final month.
Police discovered the souvenir whereas executing a search warrant at a property within the 8900-block of Cooper Highway on Sept. 9.
The medal had been offered to a former Burnaby assistant chief and seems to commemorate a 35-year profession that started in 1950.
“Investigators have been finally capable of capable of observe down the son of the long-retired firefighter, who suggested that the medal belonged to his father,” Mounties stated in a media launch.
“Apparently, it had been stolen from the son’s Richmond residence throughout a break-and-enter in 2018.”
The household was “very glad” to get the medal again, in response to the RCMP.
Police stated the break-and-enter investigation remained energetic, and as such, they weren’t releasing any additional particulars or chatting with attainable costs.
