‘My Favorite Murder,’ Force Multiplier ‘Wins iHeartRadio Icon Award – The Hollywood Reporter
Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark’s My favorite murder and Baratunde Thurston’s Force coefficient podcaster will receive the iHeartRadio Icon Award at this year’s podcast awards ceremony on February 3.
My favorite murder will be honored with the Audible Sound Pioneer Award, while Force coefficient will take home the Social Impact Award. Descript, a podcast editing and editing tool founded in 2017, will also receive an Creator Award.
Three iconic prizes will be awarded at a ceremony on February 3, which will stream virtual at 6 p.m. PT on iHeartThe station’s YouTube channel and Facebook page and is broadcast on other iHeartRadio stations nationwide at 9pm local time.
In addition to Thurston, other guests appearing at the ceremony will include SmartLess hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes; Female office presenters Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey; and SNL star and Las Culturistas co-host Bowen Yang. Shonda Rhimes, Will Ferrell, Martha Stewart, Bethenny Frankel, Paris Hilton and Wilmer Valderrama, among others, will also participate in the virtual show.
Code Switch, Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, Crime Addict, Bigger Than Riot, Office Lady, SmartLess, Things You Should Know, Daily, Midnight Miracles and You were wrong about all are racing for the fan-voted Podcast of the Year, which went to Female office in 2021.
2022 iHeartThe Radio Podcast Awards will be executive produced by John Sykes, Tom Poleman and Conal Byrne iHeartMedia; Ivan Dudynsky for Deviants Media Studio; and Jayson Belt, who will also act as host.
