NBA Injury Report: Zion Williamson Has Problems, Jaren Jackson Jr. issues and more updates on Ben Simmons and Seth Curry

One of the NBA’s biggest names returning from a one-year hiatus last season is back on injury reports. The New Orleans Pelicans have listed Zion Williamson as a suspect for tonight’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Williamson’s leg injury has always worried the Pelicans and fans. He has missed two games this season and could miss another if the injury report is true.

The Pelicans say Zion Williamson could have problems tomorrow against the Grizzlies because of a sprained right ankle/foot.

“Zanos” must have injured it in the Pelicans’ win over the Houston Rockets. Former NBA All-Star Williamson was extremely effective when he scored 26 points from just 9 goals. He makes a living on the free-throw line by taking all but two of his 12 free throws.

Exactly when Zion Williamson injured his ankle/foot is unclear but it’s no surprise that the team is being extra careful with him. The Pelicans will host Memphis tonight and then the Chicago Bulls the next night. Williamson can only play one of two head-to-head matches.

Meanwhile, Jaren Jackson Jr. could debut for the 2022-23 NBA season after undergoing out-of-season leg surgery. Jackson Jr.’s final game. was in Game 6 of the knockout round with the eventual champion being the Golden State Warriors.

Last season, Jaren Jackson was a key factor in the success of the Memphis Grizzlies. He averages 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and the NBA’s best 2.3 tackles per game. These are the numbers the Grizzlies missed in the first 14 games of the season.

Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (foot) plans to make his season debut Tuesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans on TNT, league sources say @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport.

Without Jackson Jr., the Grizzlies used Santi Aldama as a forward. Memphis’ second-year power forward did well while waiting for Jackson Jr. back in action. He is expected to return to the bench once “JJJ” is fit.
