NCAA WEST PRELIMINARY DUNCAN ROUND & SECTOR PERFORMANCE
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sacramento State Senior Cagnei Duncan placed 39th in the women’s 5K at the NCAA West Preliminaries Saturday night, in the final race of her record-breaking college career. Duncan ran 17:08.46 in the race won by Abby Nichols of Colorado in 15:49.51.
Bakersfield, Calif., Indigenous leaves Sacramento State as the record-holder in the 5K after running 16:11.24 at the Bryan Clay Invitational earlier this year. She also placed eighth in show history in 1500 in 4:26.90. Indoors, Duncan set a school record in the 5K at 16:39.27 and the fourth fastest 3K run by a Hornet woman with a time of 9:57.17. She also holds the all-time 10th place at Sacramento State in a mile in 4:59.70.
Duncan completed a Hornet trio competing at the NCAA West Pre Preliminary. Evan Stork Advanced to NCAA Div. I won the outdoor championship after placing 11th in the men’s hammer on Wednesday. Shantel Nnaji 45th in the women’s hammer category on Thursday.
