NetBase Quid acquires social media analytics startup Rival IQ
Opponent IQ, a Seattle-based startup that helps customers analyze social media data, has been acquired by Santa Clara, a California-based consumer and market intelligence firm. NetBase Quid.
Founded in 2012 by former GridPoint CEO John Clark, Rival IQ allows companies to compare their social media strategies with competitors on major social platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter. It also analyzes internal social marketing data. It has nearly 700 customers.
Rival IQ raised cash from Vulcan Capital and Seattle-based investors including Geoff Entress, Rudy Gadre and Gary Rubens. The company employs less than 50 people. Total funding to date is $1.9 million.
NetBase Quid is a 17 year old company that has raised $200 million to date. Former Tableau and Starbucks CEO Seujan Bertram joined NetBase Quid last month as COO and helped facilitate the acquisition of Rival IQ.
