Netflix has reaffirmed its commitment to the UK as one of its key production hubs, renewing its contract with Pinewood Group over the use of Shepperton Studios that will double the size of its production space. theirs at the production facility.
The historic facility is also set for a major expansion that will add nearly 1 million square feet of new production space, with the studio overall comprising 17 sound stages.
Work on the expansion has now begun and is expected to be completed in 2023, making Shepperton Studios – which has a history dating back to the 1930s – into one of the largest television and film studios in the world.

Netflix first signed on to set up a permanent production center in Shepperton in July 2019, marking its first permanent studio deal in the UK. Since then, Netflix has been filming movies like Midnight sky and Old Guardian at work. Earlier this year, it also reached a similar deal at Longcross Studios.
