Netflix has released the first trailer for the original Thai series Thailand cave rescueA documentary about the incredible rescue of the Wild Boars boys soccer team that captivated the world in 2018.
Filmed entirely in Thailand, Thailand cave rescue told from a local perspective, and the trailer captures the fear the boys face as the cave fills with water and the scale of the rescue operation the international team faces as they race against time and factors.
The six-episode limited series will release on Netflix worldwide on September 22.
Created by Michael Russell Gunn (Billion, Designated Survivor) and Dana Ledoux Miller (Nominated Survivor, Narcos), Thailand cave rescue co-directed by Thai hitmaker Baz Poonpiriya (One for the road, Bad Genius) and Thai-American director Kevin Tancharoen (Brother Sun, Books by Boba Fett, combatant). Thailand cave rescue is one of those small screen projects to tackle the sensational story. Ron Howard Hollywood movie version, Thirteen lives, starring Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell and Joel Edgerton had a limited theatrical run in August ahead of its streaming debut on Amazon Prime Video. An indie film version, The cavepremiered at the Busan International Film Festival in 2019 and a documentary, Rescueby Oscar winners Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, to air on National Geographic in 2021.
