New Titanic footage shows wreck at ‘highest quality ever’ | World News
New video of the Titanic shot at the highest quality resolution to date shows an “incredible level of detail,” according to the company behind the mission.
OceanGate Expeditions released the 8K video on its YouTube channel and said it was “the first shot of its kind”.
It shows that the bow, the starboard anchor, the number one of the hull, and a giant chain of anchors can all be seen.
OceanGate’s Rory Golden said: “One of the most amazing clips shows one of the single-ended boilers falling to the bottom of the ocean when the Titanic broke in two.
“Notably, it was one of the single-head boilers first discovered when the wreck of the Titanic was identified in 1985.”
The name of the ship’s anchor maker, Noah Hingley & Sons, is also clearly seen on the harborside anchor, said Titanic veteran divers.
“Interestingly, after so many years, we may have discovered a new detail that was not clear to previous generations of camera technology.”

OceanGate said the photos show slight changes to the wreck compared to last year’s mission, which will be examined by experts to determine the rate of decomposition.
The famous Titanic sank on April 15, 1912 after hitting an iceberg.
More than 1,500 people have died and the wreck – discovered 37 years ago – is about 4,000 meters below the Atlantic Ocean, about 400 nautical miles from Newfoundland in Canada.
