NH brothers have been giving back the same Life Savers box since 1987

An unusual family tradition will not end. The brothers have been giving each other candy back for more than three decades. It started in 1987. Ryan Wasson gave his brother some Life Savers as a Christmas joke when he learned his brother, Eric, didn’t like them, so Eric kept them and gave them back. they give it to Ryan next Christmas. Over the course of the past 34 years, they went back and forth every year trying to outdo each other and be very creative. New ways to surprise each other, so Ryan turned to the New Hampshire Facebook group for ideas. “None of us will give up because we are brothers. We can never give up. If you were to ask who did the best for these, we would both say it was our selves. We will never give in,” says Ryan Wasson, of Ossipee, “They melt after a year, so they look pretty sad. So we have the original box and then we have a new box. Then the two went out together, so the old person was quite sad. I wouldn’t try those,” said Eric Wasson, of Rochester. Ryan Wasson told WMUR that he considered having our news team surprise his brother this year with the candy in a mock interview, but apparently, his cover is now was blown away.
