NHL sets Round 1 schedule for Stanley Cup playoffs in 2022

Lord Stanley’s silver trophy chase begins on Monday.

After a 200-day regular season that saw the NHL weather its pandemic pause with empty buildings and celebrate seasons of historic hits from some of the game’s brightest stars, the end The same post-season has come to us.

Day 200 was not without drama. Although the eight teams for the Eastern Conference knockout stages have been known since January, the final day of the season won’t be determined. The Nashville Predators and the Dallas Stars beat it to the wilds in the West until the bitter end of the night.

Now, with the frame set, it’s time to expect the unexpected.

This year’s schedule has a bit of symmetry to it. There are no double holidays in any series, unlike previous years. Every series takes place every other day, with half of the eight series starting on May 2 and the other half on May 3.

The four-round tagline for the hardest trophy in sports is scheduled to end on June 30, the probable final day of the Stanley Cup Finals.
