Nia Long revealed she dated a 30 year old man when she was in high school
In a replayed video from about 6 years ago, Nia Long revealed that she was dating a much older man when she was in high school.
Her mother approves of relationship: ‘If that’s who you love, baby’
The friends everyone The actress spoke about the issue in a previous meeting with the Screen Actors Guild – Federation of American Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).
The replayed clip begins with Nia admitting that she never went to her high school prom. She then further explained by noting that, at the time, she was dating a 30-year-old man!
“I’m not a prom girl. Like, my boyfriend was 30 when I was in high school.”
As she continued to speak, she admitted that her mother was fully supportive of the relationship. While Nia said her mother was “crazy” for allowing this relationship to happen, she explained that “she meant[s] that in a good way.”
“My mom is crazy… I mean in a good sense. Like, she’s an artist. She was like, ‘Well, if that’s who you love, honey.’
Notably, the actress went as far as to say that the man was “good”, “kind” and “did the right thing”. Specifically, her ex – who is from Oman – approached her mother and “ask for permission” to pursue a relationship with Nia.
“He was so nice to me and kind…Listen, he did it the right way. He is from Oman. He went to her and said, ‘I love your daughter, and I want to date your daughter.’ And he asked for permission!”
The Man Who Taught Nia Long Some Beauty Tricks
We should also add that Long took the opportunity to talk about what she learned from the relationship. Specifically, as the man who “owns a hair salon,” Nia says he actually showed her some beauty tips when she was a child, when he “taught [her] how to do [her] own hair and makeup.
“He owns a hair salon. He taught me how to do my own hair and makeup, so I learned that.”
