Nikola Jokic excludes Knicks because of health and safety protocols
Denver miner received some unfortunate news on Tuesday as consecutive MVP Nikola humor are participating in the league’s health and safety protocols.
Jokic is one of many who have joined the protocols this season. Fortunately, the league has done a great job in curbing COVID-19, with fewer positive tests than in the past two seasons.
Nikola Jokić will be able to return sooner than before thanks to new protocols, which is good news. However, as seen, some players reacted differently to it and were forced to miss more time than usual.
Nikola Jokic joins health and safety protocols
Jokic is having a bad season compared to previous years. He averaged 20.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.9 assists. NBA fans are used to him averaging 25 doubles three times, so this year is set to be a slow start.
It was a tough loss for Denver (9-4), who are in second place at the Western Conference. The Nuggets have only played 15 games, but every game is important for a team whose second- and third-best players are recovering from injuries.
Michael Porter Jr.. and Jamal Murray returned from an injury season a year ago and is still trying to find his way onto the pitch. Perhaps with the Nikola Jokic news, these boys will be seen in a larger role than before the injury.
Jokic will miss Denver’s game against the New York Knicks (6-7). For now, that will be the only match he will definitely miss. Looks like he’ll miss Friday’s game against Dallas Mavericks (7-5), but that has yet to be decided.
Denver has a chance to beat the Knicks on Wednesday night without a star center. If Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.. Playing well, Denver could start the year with a 10-4 scoreline.
