Nordic Streamer Viaplay Coming to US on Comcast Xfinity Platform – The Hollywood Reporter

Nordic streaming service Viaplay has set a launch date in the US, announcing plans on Monday to make Comcast’s Xfinity platform available next door on Wednesday.

With the US launch, Viaplay will expand its reach to 10 countries. Parent company NENT Group is expected to launch Viaplay in the UK and the Netherlands next year, followed by Canada and German-speaking Europe by the end of 2023.

Viaplay’s US service will focus on its Scandinavian TV series offerings, with more than 1,100 hours of Nordic feature and film content as well as the platform’s growing number of original TV series.
