HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Rosa Cruz was walking north on Lillja Street near Aldine Bender around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when an unidentified pickup truck hit her and fled the scene without need aid, according to representatives of the Harris County Sheriff.
Delegates received a call from a witness who found an unresponsive woman lying in a ditch on the 15500 block of Lillja Street early Sunday morning.
Cruz died as a result of the collision, deputies said.
Vehicle parts were found at the scene, leading investigators to believe the vehicle featured could be a 2016-2018 GM Sierra pickup, according to deputies.
Investigators are looking for the driver responsible.
