NEW DELHI: OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has started a new consumer tech startup called No last year. The company also launched its first product – Nothing ear (1) TWS last August.
In March of this year, the company confirmed that it will launch its first smartphone, named Nothing phone (1), later this year. Now a new report has surfaced online revealing the design and some specifications of the upcoming smartphone.
Carl Pei and Nothing lead designer Tom Howard have revealed some design information about the upcoming Nothing phone (1) to Wallpaper.com. As reported by Wallpaper.com, the Nothing (1) phone will have a transparent design. This means that the smartphone will follow the same design philosophy as the Nothing Ear 1 true wireless earbuds. Howard mentioned that designing a transparent smartphone is quite difficult. “There are more than 400 components in a smartphone, assembled in many layers,” says Howard.
Howard describes the complete process as a jigsaw puzzle because the company wanted to showcase all the parts of a smartphone. The design of the smartphone is based on a map of the New York subway made by Massimo Vignelli and Bob Noord in 1972. Another online report by the German publication All Round PC reveals that the company is planning to launch the Nothing (1) phone on July 21. The smartphone is expected to have a prices under 500 euros (Rs 41,400).
Nothing Phone 1 Specs Expected
The Nothing Phone 1 me is said to run Android 12 topped with the company’s own Nothing OS. The smartphone is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 788G chipset paired with 8GB of RAM.
Nothing Phone 1 is expected to feature a 6.43-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. According to the leaked user manual, the smartphone could have three rear cameras with a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP secondary camera, and a 2MP third camera. The device is said to be supported by a 32MP selfie camera.
Nothing Phone 1 is said to have 128GB of internal memory and a 4500mAh battery with support for wireless charging.
