“We are very disappointed that the OIC secretariat has once again made unwarranted comments on India’s internal affairs. As before, the Government of India has categorically rejected the assertions made by the Government of India. OIC secretariat about Jammu . Union Territory and Kashmir is an inseparable and inviolable part of India,” the statement read.
“The OIC should constrain its implementation of its joint agenda towards India at the request of a single country,” said a spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs. Aridam Bagchi.
The delimitation committee, tasked with redrawing the parliamentary and parliamentary constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, announced its final report earlier this month.
This is not the first time the OIC has made comments that have received a harsh response from India.
Last month, India criticized the OIC for inviting Conference Chairperson Hurriyat All Parties to their foreign ministerial meeting in Islamabad.
A few weeks later, the OIC passed a resolution in which it alleges human rights violations at J&K and says lasting peace will not be achieved until the ‘Kashmir issue’ is resolved. The MEA labeled the resolution “absurd” and said the references to India were “based on wrongdoing”.
In February, the group expressed deep concern about what it called “continued attacks on Muslims in India” and called on the international community to take necessary measures. India condemns OIC for “motivated and misleading statement”.
