Old Navy Editor Review Terry Swim Top and Bottom I
Textured swimsuits are coming and I’m eager to try this trend. I’ve browsed through a ton of different bikinis and one-piece sets made in tactile fabric (think: stretchy and chamois) from a range of brands, including high-end and mass retailers. they. One that I are not However, expect to catch the fad that is Old Navy. The beloved American brand is known for its timeless pieces, like denim and tees, so I didn’t expect to come across a bikini with its cotton print. new part coming – but I certainly did. Cue the Terry V-neck Swimsuit ($18, originally $35) and Classic Low Terry Bikini Swim Bottom ($18, originally $30), which I couldn’t resist running tests on. My honest thoughts, forward.
What I like about this swimsuit
I ordered the top and bottom of these swim trunks in my usual medium size and opted for a royal blue called “Catalyst Blue” (which I know will perfectly match favorite combo. When it arrived a few days later, I couldn’t help but run my hands over the cotton texture immediately. It feels high quality and soft, exactly as I had hoped.
I was equally pleased when I put it on. The top and bottom provide moderate coverage while still feeling youthful, and the fabric is stretchy and thick (I promise, it’s not see-through). I’m particularly obsessed with the upper because it features wide shoulder straps and removable pads, two details that give it a sporty feel, which I personally love.
And lastly, I love that this shirt can double as a crop top for going out. I tried on my gear earlier in the day, with plans to go to the pool later and decided to throw denim shorts on the bottoms. Verdict: I will definitely do it again soon, maybe even a top-out.
Something worth noting
The top and bottom have near-perfect five-star ratings on Old Navy websites, and according to reviews, it’s loved by people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. That said, I can’t think of any caveats to take note of before adding it to your cart. One potential downside is that it’s not adjustable, but I’m willing to bet it can fit you perfectly upon arrival.
One thing I wondered after ordering was how it would hold up to chlorine, especially due to its cotton design. After taking a dip in the pool in my apartment, I can’t say I noticed any difference in drying compared to a “normal” suit. One person who rated it four stars warned that it “expands a bit when wet”, but I haven’t noticed this so far.

This swimsuit is best suited for people like me who are looking to embrace the patterned swimsuit trend. But it’s also great for those looking for sporty style with moderate coverage.
