I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: I love affordable items as much as I love luxury items. For example, my love for Old Navy and certain premium sports brands are borderline obsessions. However, I consider myself a savvy shopper because I’m extremely picky about the items I splurge on – and super chic sweatshirt not one of those things (at this point in my life anyway).
So while shopping at the Mall of America recently (do yourself a favor and book a trip to Minnesota, FYI), I found myself scanning the Old Navy aisles. While there, I came across Half-Zip long-sleeve oversized patterned shirt ($25, originally $40), caught my attention because it resembles the attractively priced stuff I’ve seen on TikTok.
Of course, I gave it a test run in the Old Navy fitting room (where the light is strangely pure, FYI) and loved the look. That helped me wear exactly the items I intended to pair it with: high-waisted pants, a flimsy bag, sneakers, and gold jewelry to ~enhance~ my tracksuit. I was sold, especially since it was on sale.
My fellow editor Macy also tried on the t-shirt and she loved how soft it was. It’s made of a unique textured polyester material that’s a lot lighter than sherpa shirt. For that reason, I think this top will be a staple in my spring wardrobe, perfect for a morning walk or to keep warm as the sun goes down.
If you prefer a more tailored look, it has a bungee drawstring fastening at the hem to keep it at the waist. As someone who’s currently drawn to oversized, cropped looks, I personally think that way, but know it’s an option if that’s your style.
And finally, it’s worth noting that this sweater comes in multiple colors. As someone who is safe with neutrals, I stuck with Creme De La Creme, but it also comes in black and gray, as well as spring-perfect shades of teal, coral, and gold. So which one would you add to the cart?
