Olivia Rodrigo inducts Alanis Morissette into the Canadian Writers Hall of Fame

Olivia Rodrigo will induct Alanis Morissette into the Canadian Writers Hall of Fame next month.

The “Good 4 u” pop singer and self-proclaimed fan of the musician who grew up in Ottawa will pay tribute to Morissette at a gala ceremony on September 24 at Massey Hall in Toronto.

She will be joined by newly announced performers Alessia Cara and JP Saxe, who will honor Morissette “Jagged Little Pill” in the song.

Rodrigo might be a surprising choice to introduce Morissette to some, but the two have a few things in common, including both young women who have racked up Grammy Awards with multiple wins.

They also graced the cover of Rolling Stone last year and performed a surprise duet “You Oughta Know” in concert.

Other previously announced artists inducted into this year’s Canada Writers Hall of Fame include Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, music producers David Foster and Daniel Lavoie.
