Omega and Swatch Just Teamed Up on the Most Colorful Speedmasters Ever
Left to right: Saturn, Sun, Uranus, Venus and Neptune
Details
There are 11 pieces, all named after planets, each with their own unique color. The material for all pieces is bio-ceramic, patented by Swatch. This is an important distinction for Omega, as it is a new, forward-looking material. All models have Velcro straps and the indexes and hands have the same Super-LumiNova used for Omega Speedmasters, which glows green in the dark.
No products are limited edition or numbered. True to the appearance of the Speedmaster, the diameter of the watch is 42mm, the thickness is 13mm, and MoonSwatch uses the same glass material for the case. The readability of the chronograph display is also extremely Speedmaster-esque, which is even more impressive since all watches are produced from Swatch factories. On each back is an image, direct from NASA, of the respective planet.

Color
Uranus is light blue, Pluto is gray with a burgundy bezel (a nice touch for the Apollo 11 Moon Speedmaster Watch), Venus is pastel pink and measures 38mm with sub-dials oval, while Earth is blue and green. Mars is red, a color that Kissling notes is the most difficult color to perfect in bioceramics. It also boasts hands from the Alaska Project Speedmaster. As for the Saturn, the watch is beige and dark brown with bezels rotating around the chronograph at 6 o’clock. Neptune has a deep blue, Jupiter is bronze/beige with orange hands, and Mercury has a darker and blacker two-tone dial. That leaves the Sun very golden, which is the starting point of this project, and the Moon, black and most similar to the original Speedmaster.
