ONE debut Lara Fernandez trains on the beach to win world title at ONE 159

WBC Muay Thai and ISKA World Champion Lara Fernandez is one of the hardest workers in the game, but ‘Pizza Power’ also knows when and how to have fun.

The Spanish standout star went to a local beach to help her prepare for her upcoming match against Janet Todd at ONE 159: De Ridder vs. Bigdash on Friday, July 22. The event will be televised live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Fernandez and Todd will take the ONE provisional Atomic Muay Thai world title on the main hand of ONE 159. It’s sure to be an incredible matchup.

In an Instagram post, Fernandez was seen performing stabs, elbows and knees to the shore.

ONE Championship wrote in the caption:

“Lara Fernandez competed in the 🌊” Pizza Power” and Janet Todd COLLIDE match on July 22 for the Interim Women’s Atomic Muay Thai World Championships at ONE 159! 🏆 @ larafdz13. “

Fernandez’s unique way of training immediately caught the attention of fans and fighters, including Spanish Muay Thai star Nayanesh Ayman Parikh Bumba, who commented:

“Next world champion 🙌🙌🙌🍕@larafdz13 🔥🔥🔥,” Bumba wrote in the comments.

Another fan paid tribute to Fernandez’s hilarious nickname ‘Pizza Power’.

“I love the power of pizza.”

Lara Fernandez joins the biggest fight of her life

Although debut is usually a warrior’s perception during a promotion, By Fernandez Starting at ONE Championship was an instant baptismal fire.

Fernandez will take on Todd, the ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion titleholder, who is on a six-fight winning streak and looks unstoppable throughout her run.

While Fernandez will enter ONE Championship after winning titles in WBC Muay Thai and ISKA, her ONE debut is probably the biggest match of her career.

Todd has beaten top names in both Muay Thai and kickboxing, including former dual-sport world champion Stamp Fairtex.

However, Fernandez is ready for whatever Todd has in store for their much-anticipated world title scramble. In an interview with ONE Championship, she said:

“I’ll be on a show, and then I’ll be [the fans’] Favorite fighter. It will be a very beautiful and technical match. I hope I can bring that belt home.”
