‘One lucky dog’: Rescue crews save dog that got trapped in drain pipe in Boston park – Boston News, Weather, Sports


BOSTON (WHDH) – Rescue crews have been in a position to free a canine that obtained caught in a drainpipe in a park in Boston following a prolonged restoration effort on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters responding to Millennium Park in West Roxbury after 2 p.m. used a digital camera in an effort to pinpoint the canine, named Hubert, contained in the pipe.

Video from SKY7 HD confirmed a number of firefighters gathered round a trench close to a fence as they labored to avoid wasting the animal.

Firefighters and utility crews spent two hours attempting to get the husky hound out and hoisted him to security shortly earlier than 4:30 p.m.

“He’s somewhat obese like a few of us,” one of many rescuers joked. “It’s a sixteen-inch pipe in order he’s transferring ahead, he can’t transfer again. So we hit him within the bottom and the fireplace guys have been in a position to pull him up over the manhole.”

The canine seemed to be unscathed because it trotted away with its house owners after the rescue operation.

“That is one fortunate canine,” Hubert’s proprietor stated. “And we’re so fortunate to stay on this metropolis and for the town to take it that severely…unbelievable.”
