OnePlus may limit the alert slider to Pro models and Oppo flagships: Report
OnePlus started offering a physical alert slider on its smartphones since the launch of OnePlus One. Located on the top left edge of the phone, it allows the user to configure the phone’s sound to be silent, vibrate, and ring without having to unlock the screen. According to a tip, this practice will soon change and the company will limit the popular alert slider to its top models. According to the leak, the recently announced OnePlus Nord 2T is the last mid-range device with an alert slider. From this point on, the alert slider will only be offered in Pro models along with Oppo flagships. The upcoming OnePlus 10T is said to launch without the alert slider.
Famous tipper Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), on Twitter, suggestions that some OnePlus phones will have an alert slider from now on. According to the tweet, OnePlus Nord 2T launched in May as the last handset with an alert slider and from now on, the feature will be more available in Pro models and some Oppo speedboats. Meanwhile, the company’s rumored OnePlus 10T is also said to drop an alert slider. A render for the smartphone leaked online also shows the missing alert slider. However, OnePlus is yet to confirm the news, so the details reported should be taken with a bit of salt.
Recently, Yogesh Brar collaborated with Onsitego leaked OnePlus 10T renders and key specifications. The leaked renders show the phone in black without the warning slider. It is also displayed with a punch-hole screen design. The OnePlus 10 is expected to feature a 1st generation Snapdragon 8+ SoC. It is said to feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor. For selfies, the phone could have a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. It is also equipped with a 4,800mAh battery.
