Ontario will let regions take the lead on harsher measures on the current COVID-19 pandemic: Ford

TORONTO – Ontario Premier Doug Ford said his government will continue to rely on local health workers to restore pandemic restrictions as COVID-19 infections increase in the province.

Health units that cover Sudbury, Ont., and the Algoma region of northern Ontario have introduced pandemic-fighting measures as case numbers spike, including business capacity limits that the province has lifted. quit last month.

Ford says the local approach makes sense because the risk is lower than in previous waves of infection when more people are vaccinated.
