Painful relationships can cause mental health challenges

It is noted that Men’s risk of suicide almost quadrupled after marriage separation. One of the reasons for the increased risk in men is because male-stated curtain-rendering issues, leads to further damage to the relationship.

Break prejudices

“Styromatic masculinity plays a role in how men react to a broken relationship. For example, men’s uncertainty about how to articulate and solve problems in a relationship context. Relationships led to more men isolating than seeking help.Most of the men in the study battled transitions in the partnership such as loss, parenting. infidelity?? and their main goal is to avoid conflict,” Dr.Oliffe, who also heads the UBC’s Outstanding Men’s Suicide Reduction research group.

It is also seen that the suffering men used substance and alcohol? to deal with their breakup emotions like anger, sadness, regret, guilt, and shame. Furthermore, the precariousness of life, social disconnection, public health constraints, and financial challenges further complicate distress.

Increase positive power

However, on a positive note, the study also revealed Men’s involvement in various resources after the breakup of the relationship for further settlement mental health demand.

“The efforts of these men to seek help were wide-ranging and included individual or solitary endeavors such as exercise, reading, and self-care while other men exploit existing networks or expand their efforts to connect with support groups or engage in therapy,” Gabriela Montaner, project lead and co-author of the paper.

Thereby, the study shows that Men have to put in more effort to move on with the breakup than tend to wait until the crisis to seek help.

The findings therefore pose important context for building better relationships between men.
