Pamela Adlon Directs Untitled Pregnancy Comedy Starring Ilana Glazer – The Hollywood Reporter
Pamela Adlon started in her first post-Better things project.
The Emmy-winning talent will make his directorial debut in an untitled pregnancy comedy for FilmNation Entertainment and Range Media Partners from a screenplay by Ilana Glazer and Josh Rabinowitz.
The city is wide breakout Glazer will play Eden, an energetic single woman who, after becoming pregnant from a one-night stand, has relied on her married best friend and mother of two to guide her through her pregnancy. and more. Famous actress, writer and star Michelle Buteau will play her best friend, Dawn.
Filming will begin in July in New York City. Glazer is producing through her Starrpix banner alongside Rabinowitz, Range Media Partners co-founder Susie Fox and FilmNation president of production Ashley Fox. FilmNation, Range and CAA Media Finance are handling the sale of the project in the United States with FilmNation also overseeing internationally.
“As fans of the classic hard comedies we grew up with and moms of young kids, we’re thrilled to be making the movie we’ve been waiting for,” said FilmNation’s Fox. and Range’s Fox said in a joint statement. Adlon, who directed most of it Better things episodes, told before The Hollywood Reporter that she is in charge of a variety of projects through her two-year-old production company, Slam Book Inc. These include a screenplay she adapted with a friend based on that friend’s memoirs and a limited series at FX. In addition to winning the Peabody Better thingsHer credits include Californication, King of the Hill, FX’s Louie, Archer, Big Mouth, Bob’s Burgers, Rick & Morty, Bumblebee, Holler, Fairfax and countless others.
Glazer is backed by WME and Range Media Partners. She is an Emmy Award-winning, co-creator, writer, director, executive producer, and star of the critically acclaimed show. The city is wide. After wrapping up five seasons on Comedy Central, Glazer joined a diverse group of projects through the Generator Collective, which she co-founded with Glennis Meagher in 2016 as a forum to talk about government and politics.
She starred in the Apple TV murder mystery comedy series + The party after thatopposite Justin Theroux and Pierce Brosnan in the psychological thriller she co-wrote and produced titled False positivesand recently released her special exclusive Burning planet on Amazon Prime Video. Other credits include Hard night and Last night.
Rabinowitz is backed by UTA and Range Media Partners. He works as a writer, producer, comedian and actor. He was written for Wide city, Ramy and Carmichael program. He’s an executive producer on the upcoming Untitled Ramy Youssef animated series on Amazon.
Buteau, last seen in the Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy Marry me, represented by the CAA and Mosaic. Her other credits include Bless Harts, Happiest Season, Always My Possible, Circle and she is specialMichelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia. She will soon star in her own scripted show for Netflix,The existence of the thickest layerbased on her autobiographical book of essays of the same name from Gallery Books.
