Paul Feig urges Sony not to include his ghost movies in Box Set – The Hollywood Reporter
Paul Feig wants to know who he needs to call after his 2016 Ghostbusters The film is not included in a new box set celebrating the Sony franchise.
In honor of the scheduled February 1 home release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the studio is releasing an eight disc The Ultimate Collection of Ghostbusters to Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD in the same day. Included in the gift set are the years 1984 Ghostbusters and in 1989 Ghostbusters II, along with director Jason Reitman’s 2021 film, is a direct sequel to the original classic.
Notably absent was director Feig’s film starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth. After the omission gained attention on social media, Feig put on twitter to share his thoughts, including his noting that original movie stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson will appear in the 2016 film.
“Um… @SonyPictures, I know this must be a mistake,” he wrote. “We have a lot of fans and Bill, Dan and Ernie came in and it won the Children’s Choice Award for Best Feature Film the year it came out. So I guess this is just an oversight? “
Feig added the hashtag #weareallghostbusters.
Sony did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In addition, the company’s Twitter account did not respond Bridesmaids director’s tweet.

Aykroyd later clarified his comments by posting on Facebook that he enjoyed the 2016 film but wished Feig was “more in tune with the initiators.”
