Penix Jr. help #25 Washington beat #6 Oregon, 37-34
On Saturday night, the 25th Washington Huskies had a nasty win over the 6th Oregon Ducks, 37-34.
Peyton Henry’s 43-yard goal with 51 seconds left in the fourth half gave Washington the victory, but the play of young midfielder Michael Penix Jr.
Despite taking a three-goal lead after half-time, 13-10, Penix helped the Huskies come back three separate times in the second half thanks to some fine play.
After Oregon regained a 1:44 lead in the second half, Penix staged a 10-time, 65-yard run, capped by a three-yard rush of Cameron Davis’ touchdown.
Then, later in the third inning, with the Huskies trailing again, 24–20, Penix unleashed a deep pass that hit wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk with a touchdown 76 yards, giving Washington a 27–24 lead.
