In a rambling 44-minute video, James spoke directly to Mayor Eric Adams, warning that his “plan to end gun violence” was “certainly doomed to fail”.
During a news conference on Tuesday night that identified James in the investigation, Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said that several “relevant posts” were found online related to the investigation, although she did refused to directly confirm that they were made by James. The posts covered topics like homelessness, New York, and Mayor Eric Adams, Sewell said.
James’ channel has less than 400 subscribers. The address to Mayor Adams was uploaded at the end of January this year, garnering more than 180 views as of 8pm. In it, James said that he wanted to talk briefly with Adams about his plan to stop gun violence in the city. “Because I see some serious flaws in his plan,” he said. “I don’t know about it. I know part of it is definitely flawed and it is bound to fail. “
James identifies himself in the video as a New Yorker, “born and raised,” and voiced concerns about Adams’ plans to tackle mental health.

The same goes for a mental patient. In a separate video, which shows himself driving what appears to be a van or large truck, James says he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
“I was in crisis, as a patient. I have a diagnosis since 1980, and I was in a crisis. I acted, so to speak, to the point where I had to be locked up for illegal drug use, I’ll just say. ” James added that he hasn’t “had an episode since that time.”
James also addresses Adams’ solution of day treatment programs for people in crisis. Of the treatment centers, he quips, “There’s more to it than being met with the damned eye… What’s going on in these places is violence, not physical violence, but kind of violence similar to what a child might experience in grade school. “James went on to describe a situation in which “people kept talking and picking, picking, picking until they went to get guns and shoot the mother dogs. That’s the kind of violence. ”
