PG&E says 95,000 customers still without power as more hurricanes make landfall (NYSE:PCG)
PG&E (NYSE:PCG) said at the end of Thursday it had power back to more than 406K customers in northern and central California after a series of strong winter storms with gusts of wind damaged electrical equipment and caused many power outages.
The company said there are still about 2,300 outages, affecting 95,000 customers, many in the North Coast, Gulf and Central Coast regions.
California is bracing for additional storms in the coming week, which the company said will likely affect recovery times and lead to widespread power outages.
More than five inches of rain could fall over large parts of California next week, and some areas can see more than 10 inchesThe Center for Forecasting said.
Long-range forecast models show little change to larger weather patterns through late January, other than bringing hurricanes to the West Coast is expected to keep most of the US relatively dovish.
