Phillies get previous top leads

Pache, 24, was not among the minor league picks and will be on the Phillies’ Opening Day roster. That could mean Jake Cave or Dalton Guthrie, who earned a spot on the roster during spring training, starting the season in Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The top 100 leads previously reached 0.156 with four home runs in parts of the big three seasons. The center puncher was transferred to Athletics from the Atlanta Braves ahead of the 2022 season and has a career-high batting record of 241.

Pache offers above-average defense, scoring above-average eight goals last season. He has experience playing all three positions off the field at major league level.

The Phillies will likely use Pache as a defensive alternative in the final half. Since trading Matt Vierling to the Detroit Tigers during the off-season, the Phillies have been looking for a right-handed quarterback to assist Brandon Marsh.

While he hasn’t reached his full potential as a prospect, the Phillies hope they can get more out of Pache on the offensive side. If he improves his pitching, he can earn balls on left-handed pitching. Regardless of his offensive performance, Pache will be the team’s best defensive replacement.

Sullivan, who will go to Oakland in return, scored a 4.59 ERA in 51 innings in last season’s Double-A Reading. The right-hander has a minor league career ERA of 3.98.
