Phillies put Didi Gregorius in IL, call up Bryson Stott
According to Alex Coffey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Phillies have included midfielder Didi Gregorius on the 10-day squad due to a sprained left knee.
The 32-year-old has cut .288 / .338 / .356 in 65 appearances this season.
In more than two seasons with Philadelphia, the 11-year veteran hit 0.241, with a 0.315 percent base and 0.426 percent slip. He has 23 home runs and 101 RBI runs in 181 games against the Phillies.
Gregorius is in his final year of university two-year contract, $28 million signed before the 2021 season.
Phillies called back prospect Bryson Stott from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to fill the spot on the list. One of the Phillies’ top prospects, Stott broke camp with the major league club after spring training before being sent down.
A first-round pick by the Phillies in the 2019 MLB Draft, Stott played in nine major league games This season, batting .133, with four hits and three RBIs in 31 appearances.
