They began their efforts in April and on Sept. 29, college students at Terry Fox Elementary in Pierrefonds, Que., walked or ran greater than 8,000 kilometres — greater than the space throughout Canada from east to west — within the title of the Canadian legendary marathoner.
The work they did actually paid off. The college raised $30, 120 in funds for most cancers analysis in honour of Terry Fox’s legacy.
“There’s a bit of little bit of Terry Fox in all of them. Terry was all about by no means giving up and serving to others and these college students have actually proven that at this time with their superb fundraising,” Peter Sheremeta, director of the provincial Terry Fox Basis, informed International Information.
