SIE Bend Studio, producer of the 1999s Syphon filter for PlayStation, say on Thursday that their landmark third-person shooter will get title support when it relaunches on modern consoles via the new PlayStation Plus subscription service at the end of June.
The note shared on Twitter by the way means it’s likely that other PSOne classics will also get trophy support. Indeed, Sony Interactive Entertainment has patented in March 2021 for a software system, using emulation, detecting trigger events and awarding titles to players on modern consoles.

Syphon filter is one of original PlayStation game library will be available to subscribers to the highest Premium tier of the PlayStation Plus service, launching in Asia on May 24, Japan on June 2, North and South America on June 13, and Asia Europe, Australia and New Zealand on June 23. Other classics coming to PS Plus Premium subscribers include the Jak and Daxter series, sirenDark Cloud games and even some third-party PS3 game remakes, like BioShock.
New PlayStation Plus is the effective combination of SIE’s existing PlayStation Now game download/streaming subscription service and the PS Plus subscription needed for online multiplayer since the launch of PlayStation 4. Players can continue to tier their existing PS Plus service, now known as “PS Plus Essential,” for the same monthly ($9.99), quarterly ($24.99) or annually ($59.99).
PlayStation Plus Extra, for $14.99 / $39.99 / $99.99, gives subscribers access to a catalog of 400 PlayStation 4 and PS5 games. PlayStation Plus Premium (Deluxe in some markets) adds another 340 games, with the option to play them via streaming, from the PlayStation 3, PSOne and PlayStation Portable catalog – but no PlayStation 2 games so far which runs as an emulator listed in the .
